Former US Solicitor General Leaves Law Firm in Defense of Marriage

By Roger Kiska, J.D. | May 3, 2011

Former United States Solicitor General Paul Clement announced recently that he will be leaving the Atlanta based law firm King and Spalding after the firm pulled out of a contract to defend the Constitutionality of the Defense of Marriage Act following pressure from radical homosexual groups. The announcement also follows the decision of the Obama administration to no longer defend the Constitutionality of DOMA in court.

I could not agree more with the statement of Tony Perkins, President of the Family Research Council: “It is a shocking revelation that King & Spalding would rather lose their most brilliant and talented Supreme Court lawyer than confront a smear campaign by homosexual activists.”
