Free Abortions in the UK

According to The Christian Institute, a British pressure group, an ad in Poland is telling Polish women that if they come to the UK they can receive a free abortion compliments of the National Health Service (NHS).

Here is what the poster says (translated from Polish):

Plane ticket to England at special price – 300 PLN
Accommodation – 240 PLN
Abortion in a public clinic – 0 PLN
Relief after a procedure carried out in decent conditions: PRICELESS

This is very interesting considering that unless woman claim the abortion is an “emergency” it is not free. And in Poland a women may be eligible for an abortion if she has been raped, the baby is seriously disabled or if the mothers life is in danger.

So what exactly is an “emergency” for the NHS.
