College Students Find a Way to Combat Maternal Mortality

Here’s an inspiring story.

Four college students from England entered and won a national business competition. As a response to the great need of mothers in Africa they designed a kit for both mother and baby. The virtual kit contained basic necessities for a pregnant mother and the newborn baby, like medicines, a water filtration kit, and training for a birth attendant.

After winning the competition they took the idea a step further and reached out to the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development (CAFOD) which turned their idea into a reality.
