24 Million Single Chinese Men Seeking Soulmate

Yesterday BBC News reported that by 2020 over 24 million Chinese men may find themselves alone. According to the report, due to their countries “one-child policy” an entire generation of Chinese people face a growing gender imbalance. It has been over 30 years since China’s infamous policy and now it is reported that couples are reluctant to have any children, thus exacerbating the problem.

To narrow the gap last year Shanghai officials began encouraging couples that grew up as single children to have two children.  A tale of caution for those population control minded people who might seek to duplicate the policy elsewhere.
