Contraception and Abortion Museum Receives Award
You won’t believe who received the 2010 European Museum of the Year Award; The Austrian Museum of Contraception and Abortion. The museum, the only one of its kind, was given this award by the European Museum Forum, which “operates under the auspices of the Council of Europe.”
A few of the other museums that received this noteworthy award were the Museum of Natural Sciences, Belgium, The Jewish Historical Museum, The Netherlands, and the Agbar Water Museum, Spain.
The Museum on Contraception and Abortion opened its doors in 2007 to raise awareness on both issues. On the museums website they proudly advertise that on your visit you can learn everything you always wanted to know about contraception and can see illustrations and methods of abortions.
Let’s hope that no other museums like this pop up anywhere.
