Screen Shot 2015-07-24 at 9.56.54 AMA PR campaign by two abortion groups hoping to gain support from Kenyans to pressure President Obama to rescind US policy to fund overseas abortions — backfired.

Catholics for Choice and Reproductive Health Services Kenya placed this billboard in Nairobi to force the issue for discussion during President Obama’s trip to Kenya. The abortion groups claim the billboard was torn down by government employees.

Abortion groups are pressuring President Obama to gut what is known as the Helms amendment which has prohibited humanitarian groups from using US assistance funding to perform or promote abortion This regulation has allowed humanitarian groups to deliver assistance that addresses the most basic needs of victims in war torn and disaster regions – food, clean water, shelter and medical assistance.

However, international abortion groups want access to the billions of dollars that flows to humanitarian groups. If Obama guts the regulation, grants will be awarded to organizations that will include abortion in reproductive health services which will preclude charitable humanitarian groups as they could not comply with offering abortion.

International abortion groups are in African countries performing abortion – some illegal. More funding will mean more money funneled from holistic care to funding that concentrates on scaling-up population reduction programs through the delivery of harmful contraceptives, performing abortions and lobbying for laws that will provide unrestricted access to abortion.
