Muslim World Following West to Family Decline?

The New York Times reports today that divorce is soaring in Iran. They report that “over a decade, the number each year has roughly tripled to little more than 150,000 in 2010 from around 50,000 in 2000.

Iran has also experienced the most dramatic decline in fertility rates of any country in history. They have literally fallen off of a cliff when it comes to fertility rates.

Iran has among the highest rates of contraceptive use in the world.

Now, certainly Iran has a huge cohort under the age of 25. Still, Iran and other Muslim countries are following the west off the demographic and cultural cliff.
