The Obama Doctrine to force other countries to embrace homosexual and transgender activities may already be backfiring, writes a journalist based in Liberia. Robbie Corey-Boulet describes the reactions in African countries in The Atlantic.

“Within days,” of Hillary Clinton’s speech announcing Obama’s foreign policy priority, “newspapers in Liberia — one of America’s closest allies in the region — were condemning the policy in particular and homosexuality in general.”

Though dependent on foreign aid, Liberia’s president and Nobel Peace Prize winner Ellen Johnson Sirleaf announced she would veto any legislation legalizing homosexuality or same-sex marriage. An amendment to ban same-sex marriage was introduced to existing legislation banning incestuous marriage and polygamy. Another bill was introduced prohibiting homosexual practices.

Hillary’s speech hit a sour note in Uganda. President Yoweri Museveni said, “I don’t like her tone, at all. … Homosexuality here is taboo, it’s something anathema to Africans, and I can say that this idea of Clinton’s, of Obama’s, is something that will be seen as abhorrent in every country on the continent that I can think of.”
