Planned Parenthood Grilled by U.S. Congress

Planned Parenthood’s president was grilled by a U.S. congressional oversight committee today. Undercover videos exposing horrific practices committed by the abortion group have raised questions beyond illegal practices of killing babies and trafficking their organs and tissues. Since it gets $500 million each year from the government, is it also involved in fraud and illegal financial practices?

Two congressmen asked about Planned Parenthood (PP) sending funds overseas. Specifically, does it send money to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

Cecile Richards admitted Planned Parenthood sends funding overseas. But she didn’t know if it that includes DRC. She promised to let the congressmen know.

Why is this important?

1. The U.S. has sanctions on sending money to DRC.

2. PP has excess money. In fact, it has $127 million in revenue in excess of expenses. In other words, profit. Cecile Richards salary is $520,000 plus benefits. The group spends $14,000 a day on travel. It bought a $70 million condo in New York City.

3. The U.S. already spends tax dollars on foreign aid. There is no need to funnel aid through PP.

4. Evidence suggests PP engages in fraud of government funding, as well as illegal acts such as committing partial-birth abortions. Are they exporting their practices to vulnerable countries and people who cannot protect themselves?

“Americans shouldn’t be forced to give hundreds of millions of dollars to Planned Parenthood, which has a history of abusing taxpayer dollars, covering up the sexual abuse of young girls by adult predators, and trafficking aborted babies’ hearts, lungs, livers, and brains. That tax money should be redirected to trusted health providers, not given to the abortion industry,” said ADF Litigation Counsel Catherine Glenn Foster.
