UN hearing on non-communicable diseases 16 June

The UN’s new super-HPV vaccination scheme for girls will be deliberated this coming September at the High Level Meeting on Non-communicable diseases.

An interactive hearing will be held on 16 June for non-governmental organizations and the private sector:

The General Assembly in its resolution A/RES/65/238, decided that a high-level meeting of the General Assembly on the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases shall be held on 19 and 20 September 2011 in New York. The event shall address the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases worldwide, with a particular focus on developmental and other challenges and social and economic impacts, particularly for developing countries. The resolution also requests the President of the General Assembly to organize an informal interactive hearing, scheduled for 16 June 2011, with non-governmental organizations, civil society organizations, the private sector and academia to provide an input to the preparatory process for the high-level meeting.
