Women Deliver Disappointed with Youth Document

By Tyler Ament | August 8, 2011

Women Deliver is disappointed with only one reference to SRHR in the outcome document of the High-Level Meeting on Youth that took place from July 25-26, 2011. Here’s what they said:

The draft outcome document to be submitted by the President of the General Assembly at the High Level Meeting is available here and will be adopted on Thursday, July 28 2011. We are disappointed that the draft makes only one mention of sexual and reproductive health and doesn’t recognize the unique needs of adolescents or their rights.

Although they are disappointed with only one direct reference, this doesn’t really matter. The World Programme of Action for Youth and it’s implementation guide take care of the rest, so they can’t really be too unhappy. Read more about the implementation guide HERE and HERE.
