Women Who Have Children Live Longer
A new Australian study on the relation between childbearing and mortality published in the Oxford Journal Age and Aeging has found that women who have children are likely to live longer than women who do not. In fact, the study found that the more children a women has the longer she is likely to live.
The Conclusion of the study is that “there was increased all-cause mortality in later life in childless women, accompanied by reduced mortality as parity increased. Underlying mechanisms are unclear but findings may have public health importance.(abstract)”
