PRESS RELEASE: Abortion From the American People

Today President Joe Biden rescinded the Protecting Life in Global Health Assistance Policy of his predecessor Donald J. Trump, also known as the Mexico City Policy. C-Fam President Austin Ruse made this statement.

“Biden is committing a crime against humanity. Millions of babies around the world will be killed with the complicity of U.S. taxpayers because of President Biden’s executive order. It breaks our hearts.”

“Biden’s executive action effectively orders U.S. taxpayers to fund abortion giants International Planned Parenthood Federation, Marie Stopes International and hundreds of foreign groups that perform and promote abortion across the developing world, including by lobbying to repeal protections for the unborn.”

“This is not a popular policy in America. 77% of Americans either “oppose” or “strongly oppose” using tax dollars to support international abortion according to a Marist Poll published yesterday.”

“Biden’s order diverts funds from urgently needed items on the global health agenda, like maternal and child health and primary care infrastructure. It lines the pockets of already lavishly funded abortion groups that target vulnerable women and girls. The order promotes their false narrative that poor women must sacrifice children for economic advancement.”
