NEW YORK, December 27 (C-Fam) It may take years to find out all the damage inflicted on life and family by the Biden administration and the European Union over the past year. Several bad agreements moved forward through the UN. Here are the five worst.
1. New UN Cybercrime Treaty Opens Door to Pedophilia and Legalizes Child Sexting
The United Nations General Assembly adopted a new international treaty against cybercrime that opens the door to depictions of pedophilia and legalizes some forms of child pornography long considered illegal. The new treaty undermines the legal standards the U.S. government has promoted internationally to combat pedophilia for over three decades.
2. UN Summit of the Future Adopts Agreements for Global Governance and Censorship
World Leaders adopted an agreement that establishes new bureaucratic mechanisms to govern artificial intelligence and information technology, including through censorship. It also opens the door to giving the UN Secretary General enhanced global emergency powers in the case of economic crisis, war, or natural disasters.
3. WHO Adopts Pandemic Censorship Rules
The World Health Organization (WHO) officially adopted social control rules pioneered by Western governments during COVID, most alarmingly censorship of critics. The new rules, originally proposed by the Biden administration to strengthen cooperation and information sharing during future pandemics, closely reflect Biden’s policies during the COVID-19 pandemic. They give the international health agency broad new powers not only to declare and manage future pandemics, but also the power to ban speech and impose digital health passports.
4. Hungary Attacks Brave African Countries for Opposing Transgender Ideology
It’s hard enough for African delegations who fight abortion and gender ideology to be attacked by the U.S. Government and powerful European countries. It is even harder when it is supposedly pro-family countries like Hungary. Sadly, this is what happened in the General Assembly this Fall. The government of Hungary, speaking on behalf of the entire European Union, scolded Argentina and African countries for objecting to abortion, gender ideology, and global censorship initiatives in a UN resolution. Hungary dismissed the countries offhand as a “small group” and implied that their concerns were foolish or in bad faith. With friends like these, who needs enemies?
5. Biden State Department Officially Launches Global Campaign Against Pro-Life/Family Groups
The Biden administration admitted its plans to investigate, intimidate, and silence opponents of abortion and the homosexual/trans agenda around the world. The State Department published an “Equity Action” report this year, with plans to combat what it dubbed “regressive anti-rights movements.” The open-ended catchall is a technical term of art for pro-life and pro-family organizations. Organizations that have been dubbed anti-rights include Family Watch International, ADF International, the Heritage Foundation, and C-Fam, publisher of the Friday Fax.

The General Assembly decided in November to move forward with a treaty that could make misgendering and denial of abortion a crime against humanity. The treaty is expected to be finalized in 2029.
- WHO Gives Special Status to Radical Abortion Group
After a razor thin vote and abundant criticism from the developing world, the World Health Organization (WHO) gave special status to the Center for Reproductive Rights (CRR), a rabidly pro-abortion legal group based in the United States.
