Lost in Translation: The Failure of the International Reproductive Rights Norm

The language of reproductive rights permeates UN documents on issues ranging from nation building to international finance and development. Yet, contrary to what advocates on both sides of the abortion debate may say, the main objective of reproductive rights, an international right to abortion, has utterly failed.
