The Slippery Slope of Pro-Abortion Policies: The United Nations and Conscience Rights

Jamaica is facing increased pressure to liberalize its abortion laws.  Pro-life advocates are urging the Jamaican government to defend its laws protecting unborn lives and the best interest of mothers in crisis.  C-Fam offers an international perspective, demonstrating how human rights bodies within the UN are exceeding their mandates, bypassing a lack of consensus among countries, and pushing a purported right to abortion.  This presentation shows how this effort, despite its lack of legitimacy, has been focusing on Latin America and the Caribbean, and offers practical suggestions for pushing back.
