International Sexual Left Targets Utah Grandmother

WASHINGTON, D.C., May 12 (C-Fam) The sexual left, led by Bill Gates and George Soros, are spending billions of dollars overseas, especially in Africa to spread their gospel of sexual liberation. It is not just Western billionaires, their money is backed by the might and muscle of the U.S. government, the European Union, and the donor countries of Norway, and Sweden.

Pope Francis has condemned their efforts as sexual colonialism.

An active coalition at the UN works to blunt the advances of the sexual left internationally that includes African countries and American NGOs, including C-Fam (publisher of the Friday Fax), and Utah-based Family Watch International.

In recent days, the government of Uganda has passed a bill that targets homosexual/trans behavior and propaganda and Family Watch International has come under fire for even talking to the Ugandan government. Other charges include that FWI assisted in the passing of the new Ugandan law that includes harsh penalties for pedophilia and also for knowingly exposing a sex partner with the HIV virus.

FWI and its president Sharon Slater, who has adopted three African orphans, have come under attack by the largely marginal homosexual/trans press but also from noted leftwing pundit Rachel Maddow.

On her television program Maddow said, “Lawmakers from more than a dozen countries gathered in Uganda and promised that in their home countries, they would push legislation against the sin of homosexuality.”

OpenDemocracy activists in Uganda are calling upon the U.S. government to punish American NGOs involved in the debate about human sexuality in Africa. The hard-left group reports that “At least two Americans, as well as U.S.-registered non-profits, have been linked to the political organizing that set the stage for the bill.”

For her part, Slater has made clear that her group did not support the 2014 Ugandan bill that punished behavior and does not support the current bill. Slater is categorial in her opposition to laws that imposes the “death penalty or harsh penalties in the context of Uganda’s pending law and other similar bills.”

Slater also says, “Family Watch opposes provisions that penalize people for failing to report on another person’s sexual activity, whether heterosexual or homosexual.” Additionally, “Family Watch opposes legislation that penalizes a person for having same-sex sexual attractions or for how they identify.”

It is reported that the Biden administration has halted $400M in Uganda funding for HIV-Aids patients in reaction to the new bill. It appears the administration is holding sick people hostage to a particular sexual ideology.

Homosexual/trans activists in Africa have complained in the past that an overly aggressive pro-homosexual/trans stance by the United States and left-wing Western groups have actually harmed African homosexuals.

Slater’s work at the UN and in Africa has generally been defensive, that is, working to blunt the advance of gender ideology, particularly under the guise of what is known as comprehensive sexuality education (CSE). CSE is an aggressive form of sexual politics that includes the spread of homosexual/trans propaganda, particularly to children in school.

The pro-family coalition at the United Nations has largely blocked CSE in UN documents but this does not stop its spread by Western governments and powerful NGOs like the constellation of Soros-funded foundations and activist groups. It is very likely that most U.S. government funding on the ground in Africa goes to activist groups of the sexual left.
